Storms

Storms
weather me,
Battles
rage about,
Strength
falters,
Shelter
from pain,
Sought
endlessly,
All
for naught,
One cannot find
Peace
from torture
that lies
within the mind.

I need you all to know that I share this poem because I know how it feels to battle inner demons. However the fact that I am posting this poem 7 years later indicates that it is possible for the veil of darkness to be lifted. It may take a lot of work, but when you come out on the other side, it is definitely worth the effort. We have heard so much lately of suicide and I want you all to know that if you think that really is the solution, you need to rethink that . We all touch someone’s life. Whether we are aware of it or not, someone will be impacted negatively if you decide to cut out. In this day and age it may sound cliche’, but it does get better. Do not relinquish your power to another allowing them to lead you to believe that life would be better if you were not around. That is their own insecurities speaking and has nothing to do with you. So I plead with anyone who is facing dark days, reach out, you will find someone who cares. If you think no one within your inner circle cares, well then call your local mental health or suicide prevention hotline. Search the internet, you will find the help you need. Let me tell you, later on down the road, you will not regret having decided you were worth the fight!
